horn fuse on a 1999 Olds Alero? |
|
Jul 23, 2008 - 4:26 PM - by dno
|
|
I have a 1999 Alero. When I lock the car via remote, the horn beeps, however when I press the center of the steering wheel, it doesn't. I've already replaced the relay in the fuse box in the engine compartment, but it's still not working. Someone told me there might be another fuse to check that affects the connection at the steering wheel. The problem is, there seems to be 3 separate fuse boxes and I'm trying to avoid pulling every single fuse to see which one is blown. Any help to save me time is very much appreciated.

We have a 1985 Toronado and was wondering if anyone has taken off that electronic feedback carb , and put on something different. What would be involved what parts. This car has the 5.1 liter and the 4 speed auto trans .. Maybe it is not even possible.. Thanks in advance...Doyle

we've had 3 fuel pumps bc we keep getting bad ones, we'll be driving down the road and it will all of a sudden just quit! we'll try to start it nothing just cranks, so we wait for like 10-15 minutes and it starts up perfect. then after about 15-20 mins it will just quit again! the trans.motor, fuel pump is all new spark plugs everything.
everyone that we talk to has no idea what it is, and there will be no service engine light? any input or ideas would be great!
thank you
and btw it has a 4.3 liter vortec V6

Autocross with an Intrigue? |
|
Jul 22, 2008 - 3:23 PM - by Intriguer
|
Anyone ever done high speed autocross with their Intrigue?
I plan to give it a shot, just to get a feel for it on the track and at the limit, but I hoped someone else has had some experience with it.
My concerns are:
BRAKES - my rotors and pads are all new this year but are stock. Perhaps I should get some performance pads (ceramic or better) to limit fading. I DON"T have the Autobahn package, so these could have a problem within a lap.
Top Speed - I have good Auto-X rubber from my track car (Falken Azenis 615) but they are 205 40series 16inch on stock Intrigue rims. This drops the car nicely (about 2 inches) but looks totally gappy from the tire to the wheel arch because the suspension is stock.
Lower center of gravity good; less distance covered for one revolution, both good and bad. It decreases gearing to allow for faster starts, but also changes top end. The top end would not be a problem for the engine, but I heard that the cars are limited to 108 MPH, and that equates to about 90 MPH road speed with the small diameter track tires I have installed (approx. 26.7" for 225 60 14's down to 22.4").
My 135hp track car does about that fast on the main strait, so I suspect I will be limited by the electronics. Let me know if anyone has found a cure for this, or an easy way to switch to the Autobahn Package top speed of 140 MPH.
Thanks for reading.
