Electrical problem
Mar 09, 2010 - 5:48 PM - by 94ninetyeight
Today I programmed another keyless remote for my '94 Olds 98. I followed the instructions by jumping terminal 4 & 8 on the OBD terminal. After I programmed the new remote I removed the jumper from the OBD terminal and this is when I discovered that my original remote was now not working.

I started over and made sure to program each remote this time. After I pulled the jumper for the second time and turned the ignition on, I noticed that my digital gauges, radio and climate control are not working. Any ideas as to what might be going on? I disconnected the battery for a few minutes to try and reset everything but those electrical devices still don't work.

1968 442 value??
Mar 09, 2010 - 5:24 PM - by Dana Bennett
Hi everyboby,
While I am into Oldsmobiles and own 2 of my own ('72 C/B hearse-rough-parts and a '76 98 4drh/t) and someday would LOVE to have a '71 Custom Cruiser, I have always been into the big cars and have never had the smaller/muscle/more popular cars, the reason I just joined is to try to help a friend.
My friend Chris has a 1968 Olds 442, VIN # 344878E171430, and due to some trouble in his family and not really being able to get out and enjoy the car he would like to sell it. However, he would like to get $40,000 or close to it to part with it and I just do not believe it could bring that, 15 to 20 maybe but I think 40 is WAY over, am I wrong??
The car IS in very nice condition but is NOT original, it has a newly redone 455 (I do believe the 455 was not even an option for cutlass/442??), I know at least the left rear quarter panel was replaced. It is midnight blue and the other year he had strips put on it but I think he put on the wrong year/style. It has black vinyl interior.
also, I thought ALL 442's had red inner fenderwells?? this does not, am I wrong??
Like I said, this really IS a very nice car but is my friend crazy thinking he might get $40,000 for it??
Other than the VIN are there other numbers I should look for??
Thanks for any help!!

Original Olds Cutlass Chrome Bumper Trim New
Mar 08, 2010 - 2:46 PM - by Scott1958
THIS IS ONE FULL SET OF CHROME BUMPER TRIM STRIPS, FOR THE FRONT AND BACK RUBBER BUMPER COVERS.

FRONT AND REAR CHROME BUMPER STRIP'S TO FINISH UP THAT 81,82,83,84,85,86,87,88,OLDS CUTLASS,442 , HURST/OLDS

This is the FULL SET OF CHROME BUMPER STRIPS that go over top the FRONT and the BACK bumper's, in the plastic bumper, that will fit 81thru 88 CUTLASS or 442 or HURST/OLDS .

They are easy to install after you pull off the old trim. After pulling off old trim, take a straight edge screw driver that will fit and lay flat in the groove and scrap any old big chunk's of adhesive that was left in groove when you pulled old trim off so that the new trim will lay flat in groove when you put it on. Then take the new trim, one piece at a time, and just peel back the red tape on back, and start at one end of bumper and tuck it in corner and push it against the groove of the rubber bumper and stick back in place of old trim. Simple as that! This trim has the 3M adhesive on back of it and it fit's perfectly and will not come off unless you pull it off.

This trim is NEW and come's with a blue protective plastic coating on the front side to protect the chrome finish till installed. The protective coating peel's right off before you install the trim or after you install the trim, also includes chrome trim strips fit under these end connector's right under the license plate on each side.

The price for this is $125.00 which includes shipping ( U.S. Only)

2002 Intrigue fog lights
Mar 07, 2010 - 10:45 PM - by 2002intrigue
My resent purchase is missing the passenger side fog light. Does anyone have a suggestion on where I can find a replacement? Maybe a set of aftermarket lights that will fit into the space.
