I've got the top off my engine, including the heads. No apparent cracks in the heads or block. I'm thinking of doing a rebuild: valvetrain and rotating assemblies. Don't know about the crank yet. The cylinders look clean.

I'll have a local shop do the machining. Any recommendations on parts?

I know this sounds like deja vu all over again. What do I need to change or keep when bolting a Chevy 350 engine to a 200R4 transmission? I have access to a Chevy 350 for $100. I'm not sure whether it is carbureted, injected, or what year it is.

I'm going to look at it soon and I'll post again with the details. I know, I'm a traitor for putting Chevy into Olds. I've got to get this car (Delta 88) running again and I'm on a budget. I'd like to get the Olds 307 rebuilt with improvements and put it back in.
