I have a 1993 olds cutlass ciera s with 3.3 engine, with a surge and fuel problem.
My neighbor (ex-mechanic) said it was map sensor problem, and it should be located on firewall. In my Haynes manual the pic looks like it's supposed to be on firewall also.

My problem is, we couldn't locate it, anyone know where else it may be located??

Ahh... You may need to be careful on that one... I'm not 100% sure if the 3300 even used a map sensor.... Even the big brother 3800 NA'd engine also did not use a map sensor untill 1996... So you may not have a map sensor at all... As a matter of fact as I was scanning my good friends moms Cutlass Ciera( 1992 ) 3300 I don't even remember seeing a reading for a map sensor...

Also do you have the SES light lighting up? And if so would you happen to know if you are getting a code 34?

You may have an issue with the MAF or Mass Air Flow sensor... I know the Culass Cieras with the 2.2 4 cylinder did use a MAP sensor...
