I'm new to Oldmobiles (I'm a Brit & part time in the US), I've just bought a 1985 Delta 88 Royale two door.
The car is an original one owner Florida car and is in very good condition overall, but does have a few mechanical problems and missing or damaged interior parts.
I want to do a simpathetic restoration on the car so where possible I would like to use aged but good condition parts. Fortunately there are lots of junk yards not far away, but I am a little confused, some sources of information suggest that cars by Buick, Chevrolet and Pontiac are basically identical to the Delta. However my Haynes manual suggests that they are all different.
The main things I know I need are a turn signal/wiper/dimmer/cruise operating arm and a dashboard pad in Carmine (red).
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

The "operating arms" are identical on my Olds Delta and Buick Park Ave.

Thanks, that was a big help. I found a new arm listed for a Park Avenue, the vendor didn't know if it fitted the Olds!

What year is the Park Ave? '85 Park Aves were FWD and the arm might be different.

ooh another Brit. :D

Where is the Olds.. uk or at home in the sun?

Good luck getting the parts you need. If its in the UK the specailist companies for yank bits seem to know there stuff quite well.

The Olds is in Florida while I rebuild it, when it is finished I might ship it back to the UK straight away but will more likely keep it here where people at least know what it is.
