ok i got the big crankshaft bolt off my 1992 olds 88 but i cant get the balancer off. Do i need a puller or something else? i thought it just slides off. by the way i love this forum for all the info ive recieved. thanks.

Yep, you need a "harmonic balancer puller". Like the name implies, it will pull off your harmonic balancer. Some places loan them or rent them. Try autozone. The new one will just slide on and tighten with the crank bolt.

What did it take to get that bolt off, may I ask?
