Hi
I have a cousin who is thinking of putting a 1976 Olsmobile 98 455 engine in a 1978 TransAm. Would there be differences in the motor mounts? Does anyone know of what work would be involved?
You can e-mail me at tom_1274@yahoo.com
Thanks in advance for any input.

Hi, I've already done that and because the setup is the same as my 1979 Trans am you should, as I did use the olds 403 engine mounts in a 79 t/am.
It fits ok although I'm searching for headers that fit and I'm hoping that someone amy have modified pontiac 455 headr in a trans am to fit an olds by simply welding them on the Olds 455 flange.
I'm still not sure about the air filter clearence but thats the good thing about steel' you can chop and change as you like (not like wood).
